Teuchisoba Ebisu

When I went to Takayama for a long time, I thought I would definitely eat duck nanban here and finally went! At first the tension was rising at that time.The inside of the store was nostalgic and had the best Japanese atmosphere.The duck nanban here is a wild duck and seems to be eaten only for a limited time. Over 1800 yen is expensive, but wild duck meat is quite large and I am very satisfied. Ginger was also included in large quantities, but it didn't have to be so claimed. Local alpine leek? Megumi I drank all the broth! ! I want to eat again when I come to Takayama. As a result I am very satisfied! !

The best hot soba we have had on our journey. They were kind enough to customize the brilliant flavours to our vegetarian taste buds. Service was good and the staff was kind. Food was very tasty and the ambiance brilliant.

I adore this tiny, yet full of history, soba restaurant. The mushroom and yum soba soup noodle i ordered blew me away. The best i can ask for in this winter afternoon.

If you say soba in Takayama, it's Ebisu.Even if you think you want to eat duck nanban, ordering is always scallop.It ’s really delicious.Tempura protruding from the bowl. It's so hot that you can't have it. The scallop in the tempura gives a good taste that can not be said.The shop also has a menu written in English, and there were customers from overseas.

Autumn-winter limited duck Nanban, too much to eat and come out in a dream in the summer. Just for this reason, I will be eating for 4 hours at high speed. If you like duck and ginger, you will never forget it.

Fantastic place. Wonderful udon and fresh home made soba noodles. I loved the instructions for how to eat cold soba. Free tea was provided and the tempura was delicious. Sad to see they didn’t have late night hours we wanted to go back for dinner!

Outstanding!

I visited around 14:00 on the middle day of the three-day holiday.It is not the main street, but it is crowded.I called on the day, but I was happy to receive a reservation.Order duck Nanban soba.The menu states that they use natural duck and Hida leek.And came.There was a mixture of ginger and grated radish on the top, and it completely eliminated the slight smell of duck.Soba is really delicious because there is only handmade soba! !I also ate zaru soba, but the noodles are very strong and completely different from ordinary soba.It was very delicious and very satisfying!I definitely want to go there again.

Because it was a popular store, I entered the store before 11:30, and the table seats were full and I was guided to the parlor seats. Tempura buckwheat noodles ordered, buckwheat has a good fragrance and a good texture over the throat. The tempura is hot, vegetables and big shrimp with salt and tempura soup. Soba is delicious even if you eat it with salt for tempura. The soba hot water was thick and thick, and delicious. Provision is quick and staff's response is also â—Ž.

Delicious food with a family friendly setting! We have a pretoddler and got cranky in the middle of the meal. It was a lovely gesture when the friendly staff brought out a toy to entertain her.

Loved this spot! Started in 1898 and the current owner is 4th generation. Got the soba + tempura. They also give you an English guide on how to eat your soba. We ended our lunch with a soba pudding which was delicious as well.

Excellent soba noodles!! Get the hot bowl with mashed mountain potatoes & mushrooms.

Ate here at 10 am and watched the noodles being made at the front window. Friendly service. Great soba noodles and the most delicious, thickest sobayu I've tasted.

We ordered mushroom rice with warm tempura soba. The soup is very thick but not very thick and has a deep taste and the mushroom rice is sticky and it is very delicious to eat with the soup. I want to eat cold in summer.

Very friendly staff. They showed me the way to take cold / hot soba. The Saba was freshly naked and I tried their tororo soba, it was awesome.

Waited 30mins for them to open after watching them prepare through the windows. The soba is freshly made. It has been since the day they first opened which was a century ago. I had tororo soba one other time in Hakone and it was amazing, been missing it since. Glad to have it again here with the homemade soba. We also tried tororo udon, and that was really good too. Love the taste of craftsmanship, dedication and perfection that comes with their food.

The buckwheat noodles are fragrant and hard, and have a good taste. The fried tempura is just right, crisp and not oily.

Not only the format but also the caring service is wonderful. I felt that way even when I saw customers serving other people. Of course, no taste of soba. I ordered duck nanban and nameko.

Found it a bit expensive but worth the money. Best soba I've ever had--amazing chewy texture and delicious sauce.

Very good Ten Zaru

Came here for some freshly made soba. Seated on the tatami by a low table. My first time dining this way. It's a bit uncomfortable for me but I enjoyed experiencing how Japanese eat. Ordered basic cold soba, vegetable soba noodle soup(hot), and soba pudding. The noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked. The pudding came with a topping of crushed roasted soba wheat, which gives the pudding a very unique flavor. Soba and udon eating instructional manga is given to non-Japanese customers' languages and for them to keep. Staff was very friendly and our young waitress spoke very good English. Many locals also patronize this place.

Incredible food! Had the hot shrimp Tempura Soba and its some of the best I've eaten on this trip including Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. A must for anyone visiting Takayama! Delicious, filling, and pairs nicely with some warm sake... just be sure to eat it quick!

This place is amazing! I never write reviews but this oDespite being located in the old part of town full of tourists it keeps its charm and the food is sooo good <3 We had soba soup, tempura and soba pudding - everything was tasty and fresh and we loved it :) Also, the restaurant is vegetarian and vegans friendly which is not so obvious in Japan. Arigato!

Cozy place with really nice soba

Slightly brusque service, but a worthwhild visit for the handmade soba, which come with a nice cartoon of how to eat them. The accompanying tempura was nothing to write home about, however.

Delicious soba! You have seats available in a traditional Japanese setting or in a western way. Highly recommended! Staff very friendly and helpful.

I stopped by while visiting Ise, but in the streets and in the small Kyoto in the store, I'm fascinated (° o °)The buckwheat was definitely delicious!During the lunch, I picked up the locust Tsukudani with hot water and the heart was soothed.P (^-^) q

Very nice typical japanese place. Soba is outstanding and it is home made. You have also a manga explaining you how to get the best taste from your soba. I hope to come back there again!

There was a queue during lunch time but the waiting time was short. Friendly staff with English menu. Tourists price for soba but it was delicious!! Too bad the soba pudding was sold out ...

Watching how soba are made before eating it made it even more appreciative of how great are Ebisu's Soba.Each days soba are hand made, each batch is enough for 30 people. During peak time more than 10 batches per day are made.Good water and great soba flour are essential for making delicious soba and this combined with more than 100 years of tradition makes Ebisu's greatness.Make sure to try Soba pudding for desert.
