Ebisu was established as the first specialized soba restaurant in the area more than 100 years ago. The original Ebisu restaurant is located at San-machi Street which is in national important traditional building preservation area. The street is famous for its ancient township with warehouses for Takayama Festival floats as well as castle town, and a historical commercial district. The sign for the restaurant contains original glass pieces from when the restaurant opened. The interior design of the building also remains unchanged. Our restaurant has been cherished for generations as an established soba shop where customers enjoy old fashioned food and atmosphere, looking over irrigation canals through wooden windows, unique doors and authentic Japanese gardens.

When I went to Takayama for a long time, I thought I would definitely eat duck nanban here and finally went! At first the tension was rising at that time.The inside of the store was nostalgic and had the best Japanese atmosphere.The duck nanban here is a wild duck and seems to be eaten only for a limited time. Over 1800 yen is expensive, but wild duck meat is quite large and I am very satisfied. Ginger was also included in large quantities, but it didn't have to be so claimed. Local alpine leek? Megumi I drank all the broth! ! I want to eat again when I come to Takayama. As a result I am very satisfied! !

The fresh soba is excellent. The staff are friendly and there is an English menu. For those who donâ€™t know how to eat cold soba, there are even instructions!

Thank you for your question. We have three parking lots at our place about 3 minutes on foot. Since we will guide employees when you visit us, we will multiply your feet, but please call our staff once. I am waiting from the bottom of my heart that you can visit us.

A vegitable Tempura or "Tororo soba" based on a kind of root vesitables. You also order simple "Kake soba"(warm) or "Mori soba"(cold) Enjoy yourself!

I think it was around 900-1500 yen.
